Marriage Proposal

We handle the details so you can handle the words.

We have done a lot of these. The setup that works is simple. A quiet boat, no other guests on board, a photographer positioned to catch the moment without being obvious, and a champagne setup ready to appear the second you look at the crew. We arrange the timing so you get the light you want. We can add a violinist, a florist, a video, or a full dinner after. Most guests do a ninety-minute sunset window. We reply within two hours and keep everything discreet.

Sample day

  1. 6:00 pmBoarding, just the two of you and crew.
  2. 6:20 pmSlow cruise to the chosen spot.
  3. 6:45 pmThe moment. Champagne on deck.
  4. 7:30 pmSunset cruise back.

You have one shot at this. Do it right. A Hamptons proposal yacht charter gives you a private moment on the water, with the sun setting on Peconic Bay, champagne ready, and no one else around. We have helped a lot of people pop the question. It never gets old.

We are Captains Carter and Sean. We know how to plan a proposal so nothing feels forced. It should feel like a nice sunset cruise until the moment happens. That is what makes it work.

What makes a great proposal on the water

The best proposals on a boat have three things.

Privacy. It is just you two, plus a captain who stays out of the way. If you want a photographer, we hide them until you signal. No other guests unless you want them.

Timing. We plan the trip around the sunset for your date. You get to the perfect spot, at the perfect light, at the perfect time. We do not leave that to chance.

A clean setup. Champagne on ice. Two glasses ready. A small flower setup if you want one. A speaker with a song cued up. All of it in place before you step on the boat.

We ask a few questions when you book. Where do you want to be when you ask. Do you want a photographer. Do you want a full dinner after. Do you have a song. From there, we build the plan and text you a timeline.

A sample proposal day with us (hour by hour)

Here is how a proposal Hamptons sunset cruise usually goes.

  • 2 hours before pick up: We set up the boat. Champagne on ice. Flowers in place. Photographer briefed if you booked one. Song cued up.
  • Pick up time: You both arrive at Sag Harbor. You step on. Boat looks nice but not over the top. She does not suspect a full setup.
  • First 20 minutes: Cruise out into Peconic Bay. Music low. First drink poured.
  • Middle of the trip: We reach the proposal spot. We slow down or anchor. Captain steps back. Music shifts to your song.
  • The moment: You ask. She says yes. Photographer starts shooting from the hidden spot.
  • Right after: Champagne toast. Photos on deck with the sunset behind you.
  • Ride home: Music up. You call your parents. She calls hers.

If you want a full dinner after, we can dock at a waterfront spot or pass off to a private chef on the boat.

Best boats for a proposal

A proposal works on any of our boats. We pick based on the feel you want.

  • Just the two of you: Any of our smaller day boats or cruisers work great. Feels private and personal.
  • You plus close family or friends waiting to celebrate: A mid size yacht with room for a small group after the ask.
  • A full engagement party after the ask: Our larger yachts up to the 122 ft event yacht.

If you want the ask to be private and the party to be big, we can do a short private cruise, then meet the group at the dock.

What to bring and wear

Keep it simple so the moment is the moment.

  • Dress the way you would for a nice dinner in the Hamptons. Soft sole shoes.
  • A jacket for after sunset.
  • The ring. Zipped pocket. Zipped.
  • Your phone with the song ready if you did not send it to us ahead.
  • Anything sentimental you want in the shot. A photo, a letter, a small keepsake.

We take care of drinks, glasses, ice, and flowers.

Add-ons that pair well with a proposal

The right add-ons make the day.

  • Photographer: A pro shoots from a hidden spot on the boat. Delivers photos within a week.
  • Videographer: Same setup, video too.
  • Flower setup: A small arch, a bouquet, or petals on the bow.
  • Custom champagne: Your favorite bottle or a top shelf pick.
  • Private chef or catering: A full dinner on the boat after the ask.
  • Live music: A guitarist or a violinist for the moment.
  • Stewardess: An extra crew member to plate food and pour drinks so it feels like a full event.

Pricing and how it works

Proposal trips are priced by boat and by hour, plus add-ons.

  • A 2 to 3 hour private sunset run is the most booked package.
  • Photographer, flowers, and champagne are quoted separately based on what you want.
  • We send you one clean text quote with all the numbers.

Deposit locks the date. We treat proposal dates as gold. If weather forces a move, we work with you to reschedule right away.

Can we have dinner after on the boat?+
